Envisioned and founded as the School of Elocution and Expression in 1879 by Anna Baright Curry and Samuel Silas Curry, Curry’s legacy is a tradition of understanding and respecting the uniqueness of every student. The Currys founded the school with a belief in every student, and an ability to help each student understand his or her individual interests and talents, seek and achieve excellence, and successfully take their place in the world.
Curry faculty and staff bring this legacy to life through a similar belief and the daily living out of our mission. Curry College prides itself on welcoming a range of students and providing the challenging coursework they desire and the academic support they might need to successfully complete their program of study and cross the stage at commencement to receive their degree – their personal mark of excellence.
With much gratitude to the Currys and all who have come after them to continue to shape the Curry College we know today, the College extends its legacy well beyond our students and is found in the fiber of its alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff. We welcome you to come join us, experience excellence and become part of our very special legacy.
