CELEBRATING 125 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION

The year 2004 marked the 125th anniversary of Curry College, whose earliest form was the Boston-based school of elocution established in 1879 by Anna Baright, who together with husband Samuel S. Curry founded the College’s direct institutional precursor, the School of Expression.

Curry College’s history includes a long line of interesting and influential people, including the world-renowned inventor Alexander Graham Bell, a close friend of Samuel Curry, who served as the school’s chancellor from the early 1900s until his death in 1922.

Over the years, the College has evolved and experienced tremendous growth in its programs and facilities to become the contemporary institution that is Curry College today. More than 10,000 students have graduated since its founding in 1879.

As one of the fastest growing and most respected colleges in New England, the future of Curry Collegeis bright and changing students’ lives through the gift of education remains first and foremost in the daily work of our faculty and staff.
