ACADEMIC DEAN'S OFFICE
Chief Academic Officer
The Chief Academic Officer is responsible for the development and teaching of all undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs. S/he provides leadership to our faculty, and is the steward of academic quality and direction at the College. Reporting to the CAO are: Department Chairs and Coordinators, Academic Administration, the Office of Continuing and Graduate Studies, Enrollment Management/Registrar, the Library, Essential Skills Center, Academic Advising, and the Office of Career Services. The CAO is directly responsible for faculty appointments, development, promotions and employment issues. The CAO reports to the President, and serves as the executive officer in his absence. S/he serves as a member of the Senior Staff, a collaborative body which provides strategic and operational direction to the College. Responsibilities also include budget, accreditation, and reporting, among others. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate, and significant experience as an academic leader in an institution that emphasizes quality teaching. S/he should also be capable of expanding academic endeavors outside of the classroom, as well as developing new programs. Operational and fiscal acumen is very important in our entrepreneurial environment. We seek a candidate with the willingness to lead, balanced by a willingness to listen, to be flexible, and to mediate conceptual and philosophical differences. Dean of the Faculty
New position created expressly to continue the strengthening of Academic Affairs at our growing institution. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, the Dean of the Faculty is responsible for a leadership role in supporting teaching, learning, curriculum development, and the personal and professional development of the Curry College Faculty. Work with faculty in developing and implementing a new Center for Professional Development. Coordinate the development of a comprehensive academic assessment model at the College. Additional responsibilities would include leadership in the areas of instructional technology, and grant writing. Also assists the CAO with budget responsibilities. An earned doctorate and significant academic experience is expected of the successful candidate. Organize, prioritize and supervise activities and personnel in the operation, maintenance and improvement of facilities at the College. Ability to read plans and layouts, estimate projects and prepare materials lists for jobs. Applicant must have a working knowledge of heating, plumbing, electricity and general facilities operations practices. Excellent supervisory skills needed. Experience in a similar work environment is required. Experience with computerized work-order systems and MS Excel is a plus. Coordinator, Safety and Environmental Health, Part-time
Assist Director of Buildings & Grounds with development and implementation of programs that ensure a safe and healthy campus environment. Includes assisting with compliance with OSHA, DEP and EPA regulations; training staff and faculty on selected safety subjects; serving as resource for college committees responsible for health and safety; maintaining records required by regulatory agencies. Position is approximately 12 - 15 hrs. per week. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science or similar, and 3+ years experience managing safety or environmental health programs, preferably in higher education. Dean of Continuing Education and Graduate Studies
Seeking a creative and visionary leader to serve as the Dean of Continuing Education and Graduate Studies to direct and grow a strong and respected division of the College. The Dean has operational responsibility for a wide-ranging portfolio of programs including several new and successful Master’s and CE baccalaureate programs on both our Milton and Plymouth campuses. The Dean is expected to be a leader, a manager and an innovator. S/he must understand the higher education environment and marketplace, and aggressively pursue growth in both quality and programming. The Dean’s responsibilities include: providing leadership for all programs; working closely with faculty committees including the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, Academic Policy Committee, and the Graduate Council; coordinating all marketing and recruiting activities; overseeing budget and student service operations; and spearheading, with faculty and directors, all new program initiatives. The successful candidate is required to hold a doctorate and have a proven record of increasing responsibility in academic administration of CE/Grad programs. The Curry Early Childhood Center, childcare for Curry College and the local community, seeks a caring, flexible, energetic, co-teacher. The ideal candidate will have a professional approach to early childhood education, and demonstrated ability to develop age-appropriate curriculum, communicate with parents, work collaboratively with other teachers, and provide a safe and stimulating environment for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position is responsible for overseeing the prospective financial management functions at the College. This includes budgeting and forecasting, as well as financial and predictive analysis, benchmarking, and contract analysis. The budget process involves planning and control, including working closely with Senior Staff to produce thorough and accurate budgets, as well as monthly analysis of results. Financial analysis projects include updating and refining the College’s long-term financial model; reviewing and making recommendations on new and renewing vendor contracts prior to execution; assisting with annual audit; internal and external financial and tax reporting. Requires BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or related discipline (Master’s degree or CPA certification a plus) with 7+ years experience in financial analysis or accounting. In addition to thorough understanding of field, requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work independently and in a group. Strong computer (Excel) skills required.
