Your supervisor should complete and sign a “Change Notice” with the notation “Rehire” written next to “Employee Information” at the top. Please send to Human Resources as soon as possible, so that we may re-activate you in our Payroll system.

NEW STUDENTS OR RETURNING STUDENTS SEEKING NEW POSITIONS
Complete and print the "Student Employment Application" located on the portal page. Review the job listings. Come to the "Curry Hires" Job Fair on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 anytime between 11:00 and 2:30 in the Student Center Gym. Bring your Employment Application and your class schedule with you. If you are unable to attend "Curry Hires", you may contact the job posting contact person directly to set up an appointment.
Once you have secured the position, you and your Supervisor will complete the “Employment Notice”. Please bring it to the Human Resources Office, located at the Garden Level of 55 Atherton) along with the W-4 Tax Form, the I-9 Form and two forms of Identification: 1) Picture ID and 2) either Birth Certificate or Social Security Card. You will not be eligible to begin working until this paperwork is completed and both ID’s are provided.

Campus Life Office
Office Assistant, Non-Workstudy

Position as office assistant in the Campus Office entails answering the telephone and receiving students who have meetings with the Director of Residence Life and Housing, Assistant Director of Residence Life and Housing and the Director of Student Involvement and Student Center. The student office assistant will also help with light filing, photocopying, mailings and other various projects. On-the-job training will be provided.
Student should have a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, excellent computer skills and the ability to handle parent phone calls while maintaining confidentiality.
10 hours per week, preferably around lunchtime.

Campus Public Safety
Boston Bus Escort/Monitor, Non-Workstudy

SSOs are assigned to each Boston Bus on Saturday nights. If there are two buses operating, there will be SSOs on each bus. The assignment is to maintain a safe environment for all passengers of that bus. In the case of an emergency, the SSO is to assist in any safe manner possible. The SSOs will be in contact with Curry College Public Safety via Nextel phone. Hours: Saturday Nights 5:30pm to 3:00am.

Event Security, Non-Workstudy

SSOs may be called upon to assist Public Safety or Residence Life with any college-sponsored event such as an ARC or a Student Center Event. Assignments at these events will be delegated by the division supervisor. Hours: Varies per event.

Campus Safety Shuttle Van Driver, Non-Workstudy

The SSO is assigned to the Campus Safety Shuttle Van. The Student Center dispatcher receives calls on a designated phone line for shuttle van requests. The dispatcher then contacts the shuttle van driver via assigned Nextel and directs the driver to a pick up location. The driver is responsible for pick-up and drop-off of students requesting use of the shuttle service. There will be time when there are no pending requests for shuttle service. During these times, the driver will continue to operate on a specific route that encompasses specific stops. The driver is responsible for reporting any mechanical issues or damage to the shuttle van. The dispatcher maintains a written pick-up/drop-off log. Hours: Sunday through Wednesday 7:00pm to 12:00am Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7:00pm to 3:00am

Residence Hall Security, Non-Workstudy

The SSO is assigned to a fixed post at the main entrance of a designated residence hall. They are given a Nextel phone that contains the number to the resident assistant (RA) for that building and Public Safety's dispatch center. The SSO is also issued a binder which contains guest sign in sheets. Every person that enters the residence hall must stop at the desk and show identification. Acceptable forms of identification include a valid Curry College issued photo ID card, a state issued driver's license, or government issued photo ID card. If the person entering the building is a guest, they are required to sign in and the resident student host must be present. A guest is defined as anyone visiting a building that they do not reside in; this includes resident students visiting from other buildings on campus. If the host is not present then the guest will be denied access to the building until the host is present. The SSO will document times of arrival and times of exit from the building for all guests. All bags or packages may be subject to search. Hours: Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7:00pm to 3:00am.

Curry Early Childhood Center (CECC)
Substitute Assistant Teacher, Non-Workstudy

The position: The CECC provides education and quality child care for children ages 3 months to 5 years old. Our assistant teachers cheerfully assist classroom teachers with the care of young children. Job Duties include preparing snacks, cleaning, playing with children, assisting with diapering, and serving as a positive role model for children. Substitute teachers will be on-call to cover shifts between 7:30 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Skills required: positive attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability, willingness to work as a team, ability to take direction from teachers, interest in young children. Preference will be given to candidates with EEC certification.

Media Services/Technology Center
Media Services Assistant, Non-Workstudy

The Media Services Assistant represents the Media Services Department. This person is responsible for conducting him/herself in a professional manner at all times. This person is responsible for taking and filling requests for equipment around the campus. This person must be reliable and punctual. It is expected that the person will be competent in the skills areas detailed below in order to perform the technical aspects of this position. Ability to work hours as required for necessary coverage .
Reliability and proven record of attendance and punctuality, professional demeanor and neat attire, ability to communicate effectively with faculty and staff, ability to work with other workers, ability to move and deliver equipment around campus, strong organizational skills, attendance at mandatory training/orientation session, strong attention to detail and documentation skills, and ability to install and assemble media equipment. Training will be provided. However, it is necessary that candidate have a working knowledge in most, if not all of the following areas: Connecting LCD projectors to other equipment such as a VCR or a computer, working with computer functions such as turning it on, connecting the peripheral devices, replacing batteries and bulbs to various machines, miscellaneous media setups such as sound system, screens, TV/VCR/DVD, etc.

Office of Enrollment Management and the Registrar
Student Office Assistant, Non-Workstudy

The fast paced Office of Enrollment Management and the Registrar's Office seeks motivated students to fill the Work-study and Non-Work-study positions of Student Office Assistants. The primary responsibility of the Student Office Assistant will be assisting the Registrar's Office staff with general office duties which include alphabetizing, copying, filing student forms and related academic documents as well as front office customer service; answering phones and questions. Other special projects will be assigned by the Registrar's staff. On the job training will be provided. Hours are flexible between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Confidentiality is required as these positions involve working with student documents and academic records. Must be reliable, have excellent communication and computer skills.

PAL
PAL Assistive Technology Center Assistant, Non-Workstudy

AT Center Assistants must be available to schedule shifts to provide coverage Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional evening hours may be available for running assistive technology training sessions. On the job training is provided, minimum of 4 hours. PAL AT Center Assistants will: Assist and train students, faculty, and staff on Kurzweil Reader, scanners, and Dragon dictation software. Assist students with routine computer operations in Windows, MSOffice, and institutional software (e.g. CWIS, myCurry). Help maintain a safe, clean, and user friendly work environment. Troubleshoot and initiate problem solving for malfunctioning equipment, programs, or systems. Ensure assistive technology hardware is operational and ready for use. Provide basic office assistance (e.g., answering phones, mailings, filing, photocopying). May also work on special projects such as digitizing audio media and creating, multimedia tech tutorials. Minimum Experience/Skills: Must be punctual and responsible. Must communicate with fellow students, coworkers, and supervisors in a collegial and informative manner. Preferred
Experience/Skills: Training or tutoring; office/clerical work; library services; media formatting and editing (image, video, audio); Kurzweil, Dragon, TTS/voice recognition software, DAISY players/software; and/or tech support. Ability to work at a desk based computer station. Position may require bending and twisting. Position requires working in a multilevel building with no elevator - essential work schedule and duties can be arranged to allow work on a single ground level floor.

PAL Computer Lab Aid, Non-Workstudy

PAL Computer Lab Aid must be available to schedule shifts to provide coverage Monday through Thursday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Fridays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
On the job training is provided, minimum of 4 hours.
PAL Computer Lab Aid will: Open and close lab. Ensure students sign in and out. Monitor computer lab use to ensure compliance with school and departmental policies. Proactively assist students with computer operations in Windows, MSOffice, and institutional software (e.g. CWIS, myCurry, Blackboard, print manager software). Communicate and reinforce good computer habits for students. Help maintain a safe, clean, and user friendly work environment. Troubleshoot and initiate problem solving for malfunctioning equipment, programs, or systems. Work on special projects and providing basic office assistance (e.g., answering phones, mailings, filing, photocopying) when needed.
Minimum Experience/Skills: Strong experience with Windows, MS Office, Internet Explorer, scanner & printer functions. Must be punctual, responsible, and able to work independently. Must communicate with fellow students, coworkers, and supervisors in a collegial and informative manner. PAL Office Assistants must be available to schedule shifts Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Priority shift times are between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM; and between 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM. On the job training is provided, minimum of 4 hours. PAL Office Assistants will: Assist staff with reception and clerical tasks. Undertake customer service oriented role in assisting faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Help maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment. Take accurate and complete messages by phone or in person for PAL staff and faculty Provide basic office assistance (e.g., answering phones, mailings, filing, photocopying). May also work on special projects such as creating or updating electronic files and databases. Punctuality, good organizational skills, maturity/professionalism. Must be able to communicate with fellow students, coworkers, and supervisors in a collegial and informative manner. Customer service employment (including retail sales); phone/switchboard work associated with a paid position; MS Office proficiency. Ability to work at a desk situated computer station. Ability to record accurate, complete, legible messages (use of word processor for message taking is allowed). Position may require bending and twisting. Student Activities
Program Assistant, Non-Workstudy

The Student Activities Office is looking for motivated students to take on the position of Program Assistant (PA) to help clubs and organizations with their event planning and funding process. The PA will work one on one with student leaders to assist with forms and paperwork in event planning and funding requests may be asked to attend occasional club meetings and events, make recommendations to club and organization leadership, and schedule appointments as necessary for clubs/organizations to meet with a Student Activities staff member. The PA will also be asked to help with general office functions such as answering phones and assisting office traffic. Training on the event registration process and funding will be given. 5 to 10 hours per week during office operating hours (Mon-Thurs, 8:30am-8pm, F 8:30am-4:30pm). Ideally, this person has a positive attitude, is customer service oriented and has previous experience with event planning.

Project Manager, Non-Workstudy

The Student Activities Office is looking for a motivated student to take on the position of Project Manager (PM) for Off-Campus Trips. The PM will assist in helping the Student Activities staff to coordinate all aspects of off-campus trips, including but not limited to, Curry Up & Go, Celtics & Bruins games and area College Nights. Responsibilities will include working with vendors to coordinate tickets, coordinating chaperones for the events, working with Curry staff, publicizing the events and keeping track of ticket sales. 5 to 10 hours per week during office operating hours (Mon-Thurs, 8:30am-8pm, F 8:30am-4:30pm, some weekend hours as needed). Ideally, this person has an interest in event planning and marketing pays attention to detail, works well with others and has good customer service skills.

Project Manager for the Yearbook, Non-Workstudy
Supervisor: Sarah Bordeleau, Assistant Director of Student Activities
The Student Activities Office is looking for a motivated student to take on the position of Project Manager (PM) for the Yearbook. The PM will assist in helping the Assistant Director of Student Activities put together the Yearbook for the Class of 2011 and would also include sending out the 2010 Yearbook. The PM is responsible for laying out pages, gathering photos, communicating with the necessary staff, organizing parent ads and aiding with the yearbook waivers. Training on using the online layout program will be given. Five to 10 hours per week during office operating hours (Mon-Thurs, 8:30am-8pm, F 8:30am-4:30pm). Ideally, this person has experience with layout and design, pays attention to detail and has good customer service skills.

Student Center
Student Events Staff, Non-Workstudy

The Student Event Staff's primarily responsibility will be to take part in the setting up of rooms for special events within the Student Centers and other locations on campus as managed by the Student Activities Office. The Student Event Staff is required to make the weekly Set-Up scheduling meeting and team meetings as assigned. The position requires the ability to lift 30 pounds and other duties as assigned in order to provide the best customer service possible.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide support for events & meetings taking place in the Student Center, assist with set-up and clean-up of meeting rooms & programming spaces, responsible for the enforcement of college policies when it comes to safety & security reporting and, when possible, resolving set-up & maintenance issues. Candidates must be a current Curry College student in good standing with the college, have the ability to lift 30 lbs. be available to work a minimum of eight hours per week. Also must give an availability of fourteen hours for scheduling purposes. Nights and weekends required. All shifts will be scheduled on a permanent basis except for minimal weekend late night shifts which will be on a rotating basis. Attending all Student Center Staff Meetings and all Trainings is required. Applicants should be prepared to return to campus early.
