Curry College Dining Services and Student Affairs invite local community members to help stop hunger by bringing a canned food donation to Curry College on Wednesday, October 18 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm in the Drapkin Student Center as part of the Cans Across America promotion.

Cans Across America features a wonderful opportunity for students to take part in a rewarding experience by donating canned food to help those in need.  Highlighting the event will be an exciting attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the most canned food donations raised during a single event in multiple locations across the United States.  The current record is 156,889.34 pounds and is held by Thunder in the Valley, Bechtelsville, PA.

All of the food collected during this promotion on campus will be sent to The Greater Boston Food Bank, a member of America’s Second Harvest network.

According to Keith Meal, Director of Dining Services at Curry College, “Cans Across America is a great way for students to give back to the community, something most students truly want to do.  It will allow them to have some fun, while helping a lot of deserving people.  It’s also really exciting to have the chance to set a new Guinness World Record in the process.  This event can prove to be our most rewarding promotion of the year.”
