Your room is equipped with one active telephone number.  Your voice mailbox, and that of your roommate(s), will be associated with that telephone number. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOUR EXT. NUMBER AND YOUR VOICE MAILBOX NUMBER ARE NOT THE SAME.  You will be able to use any single line telephone; however, we strongly recommend that you avoid using cordless phones.  Using cordless phones could result in dialing problems. As well, others may overhear your conversations.

Once you have connected your telephone to the jack, you will have local service to the towns in Zones 1 and 2, as listed in the Verizon Area Telephone Books.   For all calls outside our local area, you must either use your own personal telephone calling card, or the long distance PBN (Personal Billing Number) which has been activated for you by our direct-dial long distance service provider Patec/Campuslink Services. If you choose not to use Campus Link Long Distance Services, you will still need your PBN when dialing for directory information. FOR YOUR PROTECTION REMEMBER....NEVER SHARE YOUR PBN!

Outside callers will be able to dial your number directly.   Your telephone number and voice mailbox number will be included in the information packet you receive at either Orientation or Registration. 

Your voice mailbox number should remain the same while you are a resident student at Curry, regardless of your room assignment.  Your telephone number will change if you move to a different resident hall room.
