RN to BS

In a period when the health care industry is focused on managed care, community health, and health promotion/disease prevention, the role of nurses takes center stage. Nurses today are expected to perform complex procedures, rely heavily on their own analytical abilities, and work more independently than ever before.

The Job Market
Currently, career opportunities abound in the nursing profession and there is a critical shortage of nurses equipped to take on new roles that require leadership and management skills as well as solid foundations in nursing practice. Opportunities exist in the more traditional areas of acute-care hospitals, long term care facilities, and rehabilitation centers. But there are also opportunities in community health, educational and business settings.
