Special Needs

The number of children with special needs has grown dramatically in the past decade, and this growth is expected to continue.  Curry’s Graduate Certificate in Special Needs consists of four graduate courses.  These courses provide a basic understanding of children with special needs, the administrative and regulatory system through which services are provided, the fundamentals of psycho-educational assessment, and strategies for use in the classroom.

Who Should Pursue This Program
The certificate may be taken separately or combined with a master’s  degree.  It is appropriate for teachers seeking a professional license in special education or other areas, for parents, or for people who want to better understand and meet the needs of children with special needs.
