Technical Requirements

To provide for the utmost convenience for busy adult students, the Curry College MBA Program is taught using a mix of onsite and online learning.  Students are expected to have basic computer proficiency and must have access to a computer either at work or home.  The technical specifications are as follows:

Minimum Computer Proficiency

  • Keyboarding skills
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Ability to use email, including sending, opening and saving attachments to email

Minimum Software Requirements

  • Windows 2000
  • Internet Explorer version 6 or Netscape version 7
  • Office 2000 or higher
    NOTE:  Microsoft Works is NOT supported.

Minimum Hardware Requirements

  • Pentium III
  • 256 megabytes RAM
  • 20 gigabyte hard drive
  • CD-RW drive
  • Speakers
  • Any monitor type will suffice

Internet Access
All students must have access to the Internet from their home or office via any Internet Service Provider.  Depending on where you live, various options are available to connect to the Internet – broadband, DSL or dial-up.  If you use Broadband, you will need an Ethernet card and a cable modem.  This will give you high-speed Internet access.  A modem will be used for your dial-up connection and may be slow.  If your computer has a wireless card, the wireless network is only available in certain areas of the Milton campus.

Blackboard and Student Email
Students will utilize a web-enhanced learning tool, Blackboard. Students will be required to utilize their Curry College assigned email accounts. Personal email for student work is not permitted.
