Curry College offers five concentrations in our Master of Education. Four of these are licensure concentrations approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education. Each of these leads to an initial license in the concentration of choice, assuming that students meet DOE requirements.
The licensure concentrations are:
- Elementary (Initial License: Teacher, Grades 1-6)
- Reading (Initial License: Specialist Teacher, All Levels)
- Special Education (Initial License: Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities: Pre K – 8)
Educational Foundations - Non-License Concentration: The fifth concentration - called Educational Foundations - is for students who already have or are not seeking a state license. These may include students who work with adults, who provide training for corporations, who serve youth in non-school settings, or who simply want to explore issues in education.
