The Adult Center at PAL (ACP) offers adults with learning disabilities or attention deficits a safe, supportive place to work on developing their strengths.
The ACP serves adult students enrolled in courses at Curry College or at other institutions of higher education. Priority is given to those enrolled at Curry.
Curry College's nationally recognized Program for Advancement of Learning (PAL) has successfully provided support and assistance to college students with specific learning disabilities for over 35 years. The facilitators of the ACP are dedicated to the same time-tested principles used in PAL, helping students understand their learning strengths and challenges, using a collaborative approach.
Adult students may be seen by a learning specialist for 1 to 1 tutorials, and/or in supportive group settings in order to address academic and socio-emotional issues connected to LD/ADHD. In addition to academic skills and strategies, related topics including employment issues and the emotional connections to learning are explored.
In conjunction with Curry's Educational Diagnostic Center (EDC) and Continuing Education Division, the ACP is equipped to provide comprehensive services to the adult learning community.
