AC 1000 Proficiency Exam

If you are proficient with the Internet and Word, Excel and PowerPoint (Office 2007), you may be interested in taking a proficiency exam.

AC 1000 Proficiency exam guidelines

Exam will use Microsoft Office 2007

Key things to note:

  • Passing score on proficiency exam fulfills CLAC requirement for AC 1000.  
  • Pass earns 3 credits that are counted toward graduation.
  • You need a grade of 70 or higher on each part of the exam to pass.
  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint exams are hands-on computer based. 
  • Internet exam is a 25-question multiple choice and true/false written exam.
  • Give yourself about two hours to complete the four sections of the exam.
  • The proficiency can be taken once.  If you don’t pass, you will need to take the course.
  • Passing grade appears on your transcript as a “PP” and does not affect GPA.

  • Wednesday, January 21 at 1:30pm in Kennedy 312 (Registration Day)
  • Monday, January 26 at 10am in the HRC
  • Tuesday, January 27 at 3:30pm in Kennedy 310
  • Wednesday, January 28 at 1:30pm in Kennedy 312
  • Friday, January 30 at 1pm in Kennedy 312
