Concentrations

Much of communication revolves around specific professional industries, and at Curry we offer students the choice of pursuing a general Communication major or studying a professional area in more detail, something we call "concentrations".

Today, Curry offers nine specific concentrations: Film Studies, Journalism, Business Communication, Public Communication, Public Relations, Radio BroadcastingRelational Communication , Television and Theatre.  In addition, an Individual Initiated Concentration allows students to create their own program of study.

Some of the career options include:  Radio disc jockey, television reporter, company spokesperson, film director, scriptwriter, actor, television producer, videographer, sports play-by-play, editor, copywriter, speechwriter, sales manager, production assistant, station manager, audio engineer, lighting director, master control operator, etc.
