Concentrations

A large part of communications revolves around specific professional industries and at Curry, we offer students the choice of pursuing a general Communication major or studying a professional area in more detail, something we call "concentrations."

Today, Curry offers eight specific concentrations: Film, Multimedia Journalism, Corporate CommunicationPublic Relations, Radio Broadcasting/Audio ProductionRelational Communication , Television/Digital Video and Theatre.  In addition, an Individual Initiated Concentration allows students to create their own program of study.

Some of the career options include:  Radio disc jockey, digital media content producer, television reporter, company spokesperson, film director, scriptwriter, actor, television producer, public relations director, sports play-by-play, editor, copywriter, speechwriter, sales manager, production assistant, station manager, audio engineer, lighting director, event planner, master control operator, etc.
