Curry Theatre is always a busy place. And the Spring 2008 semester was no different.
Theatre students and faculty produced their "New Plays Festival" which played to packed houses. "New Plays" is an annual event where theatre students showcase their own short one act plays...truly original works.
Then, at the end of April, the department geared up to host a musical for the first time in Keith Auditorium, "Once Upon a Mattress." "Once Upon a Mattress" was written in 1959 by Mary Rodgers (the daughter of famous musical composer, Richard Rodgers); the show is loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson's "The Princess and the Pea." It's a bit of a twisted fairly tale.
The play was directed by Jennifer Glasser, music direction by Dan Rodriguez and choreography by Leah Fine.
