Communication Major:
Curry's Communication Department houses one of the oldest majors at the institution, dating back to the school's founding in 1879. Today, students can take a general major, which is outlined below, or choose a concentration in a specific professional category.
A Communication degree prepares students for a variety of careers, including radio and television broadcasting, print and online journalism, public relations, film production, acting and theatre production, and much more.

Concentrations
A student who has an interest and/or career goals in a specific area of communication may pursue a communication area concentration. Communication concentrations are optional, but if chosen, must be completed in consultation with the appropriate faculty member. Suggested course groupings for each concentration are also listed on separate web pages. Students may use appropriate courses, among the nine courses required for the major, to meet the requirements for a specific concentration. Students opting for a communication concentration must complete all courses listed for that category.
