Next February, the United States will turn off the signal to analog television. As we near this important and historical date, many consumers are wondering what the Digital television transition is all about, and what it means to the TVs they now use in their homes.
The Communication department at Curry College is pleased to present a special presentation, "The Digital TV Transition: The Death of Analog", on Monday February 11, 2008 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Parents Lounge of the Hafer Academic Building.
Alex von Lichtenberg, the general manager of WUNI-TV, will be the guest speaker. Mr. von Lichtenberg will explain why digital television is happening, how your analog television will be affected, and what you can do to still use your older television sets.
This event will also kick off the Communication department's commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Broadcasting as a field of study at the college.
The event is free and open to the public. Free refreshments will be available.
