Student Public Relations Chapter Debuts
Kirk Hazlett, Assistant Professor and coordinator of Curry's P.R. concentration, is pleased to announce the formation of Curry's first ever student-run Public Relations Student Association.
"As the liaison between the Boston Chapter, Public Relations Society of America, and the (now) 10 PR student chapters in the Boston area, I am personally delighted to welcome our newest student chapter to an organizational network comprising more than 20,000 Public Relations professionals and 8,000-plus Public Relations students nationwide", Professor Hazlett said.
The new organization recently appointed its first board of directors:
* President ~ Robert Nolet
* Vice President ~ Edward (Ted) Smith
* Secretary ~ Allison Sturchio
* Public Relations Director ~ J. Ryan Thompson
* Historian ~ Cristina Diaz
Prof. Hazlett says the Curry College PRSA members are excited about this very positive step forward. They are now undertaking the steps of formulating the Chapter's constitution and by-laws, as well as formalizing our meeting dates for the remainder of the academic year.
The Public Relations concentration is one of eight concentrations in the Communication major. Students interested in P.R. courses may contact Kirk Hazlett at extension 3526.
