P.R. Professor Wins Award

Professor Kirk HazlettProf. Kirk Hazlett was honored Nov. 13 with the "Boston Beacon Award" by the Boston chapter of Public Relations Society of America.  The award honors lifetime achievement in the profession of public relations.

"I'm honored to be recognized for my contributions," said Prof. Hazlett.  "I feel there are many others that are much more deserving but I truly appreciate the recognition from my peers."

P.R. professionals from all over greater Boston were on hand to congratulate Prof. Hazlett on this milestone.  The event was held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel in Boston.

Students from Curry's student chapter of PRSA were also on hand at the ceremony to cheer Prof. Hazlett on.  Prof. Hazlett's Communication faculty colleagues were excited by the news.

"This is a testament to Kirk's professionalism and dedication," said Prof. Jerry Gibbs.  "The award is a culmination of many things, and our students are the biggest winners because they reap the benefits of his experiences everyday in the classroom."

Prof. Hazlett is an Assistant Professor at Curry College where he oversees the growing Public Relations concentration.  He is also the past-president of PRSA.
