("Detention" choreographed by Terry Norgeot)
The Curry College Theatre stage players hit the road in early 2010 to showcase one of their most successful plays in recent years.
In January, ten lucky members of the student troop got to show off their acting chops at the Turtle Lane Playhouse in Auburndale, MA, just outside of Boston. They performed three songs from the musical, "The Love Note" as part of the Young Actors' Winter Festival, produced by James Tallach.
It is the first year that the Curry College Theatre department has taken part in the event. The following student-performers were featured:

Written by Curry's very own Professor Gail Phaneuf, "Note" was first performed in the spring of 2009 as the Curry Main Stage production and received rave reviews from audiences.
Phaneuf wrote another short play, "If a Ball Could Dream," which was also performed at the festival.
In her 4th year with the college, Phaneuf has already made a profound impact on the department, writing and producing several shows already, and passing her knowledge and energy along to her students.
"It is impressive to witness the works of the students Gail is teaching, the ongoing commitment she makes to their writing, and the opportunities she opens for them in the outside theatre world," beamed Debra Lee Garren, director of the Curry Theatre department.
