Students interested in working with and teaching school-aged children, ages 5-12, should pursue a concentration in School-Age Care and Education. Students can prepare for careers as leaders/teachers/administrators of youth programs such as community-based youth organizations, before and after school programs and other out-of-school youth related programs. The School-Age Care and Education concentration emphasizes designing challenging and effective youth programs and developing skill in leadership and administration of programs for school-aged children.
