The Department of Fine and Applied Arts offers two majors; Graphic Design and Visual Arts. Faculty is dedicated to nurturing the creativity and development of each student. In small classes, students work closely with teachers who are professionals in their field and who exhibit widely.
Both majors offer a variety of classes at the introductory and advanced level. All students have a strong foundation in Basic Design, Drawing, Color Theory, and Design Concepts.
The sequence of study culminates with a capstone course called Fine and Applied Arts Seminar, Portfolio and Presentation and an Independent Studio where students work one-on-one with a faculty mentor.
Internships are greatly encouraged and help provide the necessary range of knowledge and skill for career entry.
