The study of the natural world is a study of change, transfer, and growth. Biology presents a view of the natural world that is physical, chemical, and biological, giving an integrated view of the organism and its inner operations as well as interactions with its external environment. The courses are relevant to virtually every academic discipline.
Career opportunities for biology majors include government or industrial research, teaching, environmental studies, dentistry, and medicine. Curry graduates in biology have attended dental, medical, and other graduate schools.
Students interested in pre-med should consult with the biology faculty. The general requirements as determined by the Association of American Medical Colleges are: one year of biology, two years of chemistry through organic chemistry, one year of physics and an earned GPA of at least 3.4.

Requirements for Biology Minor:
Students can earn a minor in biology by taking any 15 credits in biology, at least six of which must be taken at Curry College.
Note: Any two science laboratory courses from different science areas may be used in combination to fulfill the CLAC I science requirement.
Students interested in pre-med should consult with the biology faculty. The general requirements as determined by the Association of American Medical Colleges are: one year of biology, two years of chemistry through organic chemistry, one year of physics and an earned GPA of at least 3.4.
