Education

Curry's undergraduate Education majors prepare students to work with children and their families in school and other educational settings. Degree candidates’ understanding of children's physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and cultural development is enriched through coursework. To complement their understanding of theory, students have the opportunity to engage in practice in supervised fieldwork, which provides the benefit of a work experience in the student’s chosen field. Education students gain an appreciation of the complexity of educational organizations in which children grow and learn, and develop the skills required to become members and leaders in these environments.

Three of Curry College’s undergraduate majors in Education - Early Childhood, Elementary and Special Education - lead to licensure in Massachusetts. A fourth major, the Child Youth and Community Education major, offers three concentrations, including Early Care in Education, School Age Care, and Community Education.
