Environmental Studies Minor:
With the ever-increasing awareness of the impact of humans on their surroundings and vice versa, an informed citizenry is essential. Students selecting this minor can expect to deal with information about the physical environment which will be directly applicable to changing the social environment by political means. As such, the environmental studies minor is appropriate not only for those interested in their personal surroundings but also for those who will be assuming leadership roles in their communities, businesses, government, and other organizations. The student’s objective will be to acquire skills useful in the work place: sampling techniques; collecting and understanding data; methods of effecting change; and understanding regulatory compliance. It also requires students to criticize, integrate and synthesize ideas and information.
