Dr. John Hill writes, speaks, and blogs on Democracy, Equality, and Justice

John Hill, Professor of Politics and History, Curry CollegeDr. John Hill of the Politics and History Department is a busy man. While finishing his second semester as Curry Fellow, a position created to honor distinguished faculty and their scholarly accomplishments, Lexington Books has just published a revised and expanded paperback edition of his Democracy, Equality, and Justice: John Adams, Adam Smith, and Political Economy. Dr. Hill reintroduces modern readers to John Adams and Adam Smith, demonstrating the relevance of their actual ideas, not the popular caricature of their ideas, to contemporary debates over political economy. Read more about the book, including excerpts, at his new webpage. Dr. Hill is also a contributer to a new blog, The Public Humanist.  Read his posts on Cooperative Models of Foreign Policy and Capitalism with Justice: A Hippocratic Oath for Free Market Capitalism.  Dr. Hill presented "Laissez-faire, No Fair," at the Curry College Keith Auditorium on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 7:00 PM. This lecture discussed Adam Smith, the father of capitalism, and his views of the role of government in the economy.
