ALUMNI
2007
Haile Dunn (2007)
Haile is employed as an administrative/research assistant at Brown University's Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research. She is currently involved in two studies, the first of which is the National Children's Study, the second study relates to lead exposure and the effects it has on pregnant women.
Ashly Lasko (2007)
Ashly is currently working full time for Reebok as a pre-school teacher. She is taking a few classes part-time so that she can apply to an accelerated nursing program.
2006
Danielle Crowley (2006)
Danielle is currently working at McLean Hospital as a mental health specialist working with eating disordered young women with comorbid problems such as trauma, self injury, substance abuse, and various other disorders.
Veronica Palmer-Segal (2006) has been working as a Research Data Coordinator at the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI), a social policy research group affilliated with the University of Massachusetts, Boston and Children's Hospital Boston. In this position, she is involved in various aspects of research and has begun some projects of her own, including partnering with community, corporate, and municipal groups to build a universally designed playground in Boston. 'As a (former) student in the psychology department at Curry, I always felt challenged to learn and perform at my best, and was confident that I had the support and guidence I would need to be successful. As a (current) professional in the field of social research, I attribute much of my success to the knowledge, skills and decication of the faculty in the Department of Psychology Department at Curry.'
Kristen Sheridan (2006) recently graduated from Suffolk University in 2007 with a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am now working for South Bay Mental Health in Weymouth, MA providing individual, family, and group therapy.
Jeremy Rischall (2006)
Jeremy has been a full time graduate student at Northeastern University in the Schol Counseling program. During this time, he held an assitantship at two Boston public high schools as a college advisor. He recently passed the licensure test and will graduate in May.
Emily Roth (2006)
Emily is getting a master's degree in mental health counseling at Mercy College, and will be doing her internship in a middle school for school counseling in Westchester, NY and should be done with her degree in Februray 2009.
2005
LeighAnn Eruzione (2005)
LeighAnn is getting her Masters in Social Work at Boston University. After graduation in 2005, she worked as a Victim Witness Advocate for the Suffolk Country District Attorney's Office, but left in August of 2007 to go back to school. She will finish her MSW program in May of 2009.
Mari Nosal (2005)
Since graduating, Mari worked as a site coordinator of a before and after school program in North Pembroke. She manages two staff, and handles all administrative activities and curriculum development. She is at the midpoint of the Foundations of Education master's degree program at Curry. "I would not be meeting the demands of grad school if it was not for the foundations that I learned while in the undergrad program," reports Mari.
2004
Imogen Alter (2004)
Imogen is working with Autistic children at Q-sac in New York. She also volunteers time working with elders, and is taking a graduate level class in social work at the Hunter School of Social Work in Manhattan.
Michael E. Amaral-Sweeney (2004).
Michael practices as a licensed mental health counselor in Bourne, MA and teaches at Cape Cod Community College in the registered nursing program. He received his first master's degree in clinical psychology at Bridgewater State College in 2003. He is currently at the University of Rhode Island working on obtaining his second master's degree in nursing with a psychiatric-mental health clincial nurse specialist concentation and psychiartic nurse practitioner. He is a registered nurse in MA and RI. and a foster father to a 17 year-old high school senior.
Dana Bonaventura (2004)
Dana has started a new position with the Department of Social Services working as a social worker out of the coastal office, in Weymouth, MA.
Luis Carmody (2004)
Luis got a job right after graduation as a Residential Counselor and Advocate at The Bridge Of Central Mass in The Southboro Adult Residence and Supporting Housing program.
James Cooper (2004)
James "Kupah" has been motivationally speaking to Norfolk County Youth for almost four years now as part of the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office. He is also teaching various Hip Hop Classes in and around the South Shore and is the Founder of a complete Entertainment Co. "Urban KINETIKS" Universal Entertainment.
Molly Engles (2004)
Molly started working at Mystic Valley Elder Services in September of 2006 as a Care Options Care Manager. She does intakes with clients in need of services. She likes the job and says it is a challenge. She is contemplating going back to school for a masters in Social Work.
Kate McMakin (2004)
As of December 19, 2007 Kate will have completed all her course and internship work for a masters in mental health/school adjustment counseling. She has also become a member of Beta Sigma Chi which is Bridgewater State College's chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (professional counseling honors society) and will be graduating in May of 2008.
Heather Petitpas (2004)
Heather completed Bridgewater's Masters in Counselor Education (mental health counseling) in the summer of 2007 and is now working full time as a mental health counselor at a non profit agency in Brockton, working with adults, adolescents and children and loving every minute of it. It was what I was cut out to do!
Amanda Phillps (2004)
Amanda got a job at Cambrex Bio Science in Hopkinton, MA in the Quality Assurance Department as a Documentation Specialist.
Andrea Sarbanis (2004) graduated in 2006 from UNE with an MSW. She is currently a crisis worker at a mental health agency in Maine called Ingraham working with adults, althoughher passion is to eventually be working with children. She is pursing the LCSW so she can open a private practice someday. In the time being she thoroughly enjoys being a crisis clinician.
Carol Soldevilla (2004) was accepted to Boston University and Boston College's social work programs and is attending Boston College. She is now working on a master's degree in social work.
Matt Torrey (2004)
Matt is a residential counselor for The Bridge of Central Mass. Inc. His duties include advocating for clients (this entails coming up with a treatment plan and working one on one with them on their treatment goals). This was a promotion from his previous job and internship at Curry- great job Matt!
Jennifer Ward (2004)
In May of 2007, Jennifer earned a Master’s of Social Work Degree from Boston College with a focus on Health/Mental Health and concentration in administration, policy, community organization and planning(Macro). She is currently preparing for Licensure exam as a Certified Social Worker(LCSW) for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She resides in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Curry College's psychology department definitely prepared me for graduate school and the human services/social work profession. More importantly, psychology is so broad and one can do a lot with psychology coursework on their resume and educational background.
2003
Angela Cordero (2003)
Angela is currently working as a Lead Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Mulberry Child Care and Preschool in Wellesley, MA. Her main responsibilities are to manage and oversee the overall functioning of the classroom by creating and implementing a theme based curriculum each week that covers all areas of development such as literacy, math, creative art, and life skills.
Beth Fountain (2003)
Beth works at Bay State Community Services in Quincy, MA as an intensive tracking counselor.
Margaret Frederics (2003)
Margaret is now working for Big Brother of Massachusetts as a Volunteer Enrollment Specialist.
Erika Kraselsky (2003)
Erika just completed a Master's of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Central Connecticut State University and now works as a family therapist.
Mindy Paige (2003)
Mindy was just hired for her first job out of college as a residential instructor at the Boston Higashi School in Randolph. Good luck Mindy!
Charlie Roberts (2003)
Charlie is getting his master's degree in Higher Education Administration in the Division of College Student Personnel at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He is also the Graduate Associate for the Dean of Students and hopes to be a Dean himself at some point. Good luck Charlie and keep us up to date.
Erin Stewart ( 2003)
Erin graduated with a master's degree in Social Work in 2006. Currently she is working at a K-8 Charter school in Jersey City, NJ as Clinical Supervisor as well as case manager on the child study team. In addition to that, she works at Sensory Kids, a Childrens' agency that work with children with Autism and other spectrum disorders.
2002
Kathlene Heagney (2002)
Kathlene is an Admission Counselor at Curry College. She enjoys interviewing perspective students, meeting with families and guidance counselors and has been spending most of her Fall Semester traveling around the New England area promoting the Undergraduate Programs to many different High Schools.
Cori Steinagle (2002)
Cori is now in her sixth year as a first grade teacher at in Channelview, Texas.
Jennifer Zion (2002)
Jennifer recieved her masters degree in expressive therapies from Lesley University in 2005. She is working on a second degree in school guidance which she will recieve in 2009. She also trained her dog as a licensed therapy dog and does weekly school visits with him.
2001
Yasmine Babio (2001)
Yasmine is attending law school at New England School of Law.
Judith Fanuele (2001)
As of 2003, Judith has been working with the elderly at All Service Access Point. For the last six months she supervised 8 case managers, supporting them thru a state wide data management change. Currently Judith is looking for something new and is interested in working in the education system.
Robin Halpern (2001)
Robin is a supervisor and residential counselor for Bay State Community Services at the Granite House Facility.
Elissa Kostopolous (2001)
Elissa is working for the May Institute and going to Simmons p/t for a degree in Social Work.
Robert Mergl (2001) retired from the United States Navy in San Diego, CA in August 2004 after 20 years of honorable service. Currently, he is employed at State Street Financial Headquarters located in downtown Boston where he works as a Senior Associate within their International Financial Management Department. He is also working towards certification as a Certified Employee Assistance Program Manager. Robert and his wife Melissa recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary together. Robert and his family currently reside in Norwood, Massachusetts with their three children, a 19 year old daughter, and two sons, ages 17 and five.
Meagan McCanta (2001)
Meagan received her MSW from Simmons College in 2004 and moved back to her hometown of Seattle, WA after graduation. She worked in the human service field for 2 1/2 years and then decided that it was not what she really wanted to do. She currently works for a trade organization called Biz Xchange and loves it.
Chandra Morgan (2001)
Chandra just completed an M.S.W. at Columbia University in New York City. She recently was offered a job at Spence-Chapin Service to Families and Children as an International Adoption Specialist.
Kristin Porter (2001)
Kristin has been working for Enable Inc/Networks Supported Living Services since May 2005. She was promoted to Team Coordinator in November, 2006. Since becoming a manager, she oversees the programs Case Workers that are out in the field and other aspects of the program.
Maria Salvador (2001)
finished her masters on 5/1 in counseling psychology/forensic emphasis from Northeastern University. She will be attending Alliant International University in San Diego to pursue a PhD. Great job Maria!
2000
Jenna Bessette (2000)
Jenna is a legal principles claims specialist for ELCO Administrative Services. She was recently promoted and moved to Elco's Atlanta office (2004).
Shaundre (Guarino) Rose (2000)
Shortly after graduating, Shaundre got a great position with the Department of Mental Health, Forensic Division servicing the Metro Boston Area. She did this job for a few years before resigning after having her first child. Since that time, she has had two other daughters and is the proud mother of a three-year old, one-year old and a three-month old girl.
Nadia Taylor (2000)
Nadia is an entry level teacher for the Needham Public Schools, working at the Pollard Middle School. She works with Special Needs students in grade 7. "My degree from Curry has carried me to this point in my life," writes Nadia.
Terrel Wells (2000)
Terrel works as a social worker for the Department of Social Services in Dorchester. She is also attending graduate school at Simmons College, studying for a M.S. Ed. in Behavioral Education. She also hopes to open her own daycare and eventually her own school. She was alo recently married to Marc Theodule. Congrats on all!
1995
Holly Bauer (1995)
Holly graduated with a master's degree in Social Work from New Mexico Highland's University in 2004. She works at the University of New Mexico's Children's Psychiatric Hospital as the Program Mananger of the Adolescent Residential Treatment Program. She is also working as a Clinician with the adolescents and their families.
1993
Sue Baceski (1993)
After receiving her master's degree and CAGS from UMass Boston, Sue has been pursuing a career in the field of School Psychology. In addition, she has recently started private practice work providing psychological testing for the Boston Public Schools as well as the local community.
Jill Effren (1993)
Jill went on to obtain a masters degree in social work and graduated in 1996 from FIU. She has been working the last 11 years in the medical social work field. She is the director of social services in a skilled nursing facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I owe my career in social work to my Curry psychology guidance counselor for where I am today-- Thank you.
1986
Helena (Bernardino) Skinner (1986)
Helena went on to graduate school at UMASS Boston and graduated with an M.Ed in Counseling. She has been a guidance counselor at Quincy High School in Quincy, MA for 18 years and has been Student Support Services Chairperson for 3 years. "The foundation for my success in this field came from the education and the experiences I had at Curry," says Helena.
1985
Katie Donohue (1985)
Katie worked in Human Services and the corporate world for 14 years, and then returned for her Teaching Certification from UMASS Dartmouth, then shortly thereafter, pursued a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instructional Technology through Framingham State College. She has been teaching 5th grade in Mashpee, on Cape Cod for 9 years and loves the age group and teaching all the disciplines. She has a 4 year old daughter, Grace, and happens to think, at least for the moment, that 4 year olds are the funniest beings on the planet!
1965
Roger Gray (1965)
Roger is now retired. He lives in Cotuit on Cape Cod. A few years after graduating he received a master's degree in guidance and psychological services from Springfield College.
