Jill Gordon

Jill Gordon's path to the investment banking business in New York City began on the soccer fields and classrooms of Curry College.  Recruited to play at several small schools in New England and Florida, Jill decided on Curry for the personalized, intimate atmosphere.  It seems to have been the right choice, on the field Jill excelled and collected numerous honors including Freshman Player of the Year, Team MVP her Junior season and Team Captain as a senior.

In the classroom Jill credits Professor Jim Salvucci with helping her become more confidant and self reliant.  "I met Professor Salvucci on the first day and I was completely intimidated.  One day I met him after class and he just talked to me.  He was so cool we became good friends, he taught me to work hard no matter what it takes.  I ran the Boston Marathon every year and he was very supportive of me in total, not just in classes."

A New Jersey native Jill worked at an internship for Soloman Smith Barney in New York City while earning her degree in Business Management with a Sports Management Minor.  She did some work in events and attractions for the NBA and used her networking skills to land a job.  She decided to get back into business when an opportunity came up in investment banking for Credit Suisse where she has been for almost two years.

An avid traveler Jill has recently visited London, Spain and will go to Greece this summer.  She loves the city life and continues to be extremely active running and playing soccer.  She will participate in the New York Marathon in November.  In addition to all that she has found time every Tuesday for the last two years to volunteer at the NYU Pediatrics Center working with children hurt in accidents ands stricken with cancer.

Congratulations to Jill Gordon '01 on her success, she has embodied the mission of Curry College by applying her education and experience effectively in a complex, changing world.  Best of luck to Jill on all her future endeavors.
