As many of our current students know, when you are looking at schools and see the right one, it just hits you.  That's exactly how Trace Regan remembers her visit to Curry as a high school basketball recruit from Abington, MA.  She knew she wanted to stay in New England and Curry was the right fit for her then, for the same reasons it is for nearly 4,000 students today; small class sizes, a world of opportunity and individualized instruction.

On the basketball court Trace quickly lived up to her billing as a top recruit.  By the time of her graduation she had amassed Hall of Fame caliber statistics, confirmed by her induction into the Curry College Athletic Hall of Fame in the fall of 1997.

In the classroom, Trace learned valuable lessons in business from then Professor Ken Quigley Jr.  It was his ability to interlace real life with textbook information that made an impact.  Trace remembers, "He had a real world philosophy about teaching, because he had that experience."

The Office of Career Services played an important role as well, stressing the importance of using an internship to build relationships and networks as well as to gain experience.  During her internship at Smith Barney, Trace put that advice into action.  The broker she worked for became an important resource offering advice, interview coaching and strong recommendations.

Trace began at State Street after graduation as a Portfolio Accountant before moving up to Account Manager, then as an internal consultant examining best practices, standard operating procedures and technology among others.  Trace transitioned to Human Resources as a Recruiter then as Recruiting Manager for Massachusetts and presently serves as Vice President of Staffing Infrastructure.  Among her career highlights has been the implementation of a Global Applicant Tracking system.

Trace continues to support the College by sharing her time and expertise as Chair of the Hall of Fame Committee, a group of Hall of Fame members who evaluate candidates in conjunction with the Curry Athletic Department and the Office of Alumni Relations.
