1950-1959
Lucille Olsen Watts '59 married Glenn Watts on November 1, 2008. She taught for 30 years in Massachusetts, and then moved out west to Washington where she has been volunteering in various schools for the last 20 years.
1960-1969
Stephen Zanni '68 and his wife, Janice, are the proud grandparents of Gianna and Eva Zanni and Enzo Pesce.
Harvey Glasser '68 has moved to West Palm Beach for the winter and would like to hear from his successful Curry friends. He writes, "Golf needs some work, but retirement life is definitely agreeing with [me]."
Capt. James Jackson '69 has reached another milestone in his teaching career. Over the past 17 years he has personally taught and certified over 1,000 100-ton captains. During his career he has written six textbooks approved by the US Coast Guard, as well as a training guide for instructors, and he still teaches CPR and First Aid to licensed captains. Jim continues to teach at Mass Maritime Academy. He is also developing offsite locations to conduct the 100-ton course, which is now available at Green Harbor, Marshfield, Edgartown and coming soon, Naples, FL.
Lloyd Mapp, Jr. '69 has had careers ranging from school teacher to college professor to life insurance agent to VP of a mortgage firm to his current position as a lending consultant with Citibank. He has been married to his wife, Diane, since 1973 and they have two sons and three grandchildren.
1970-1979
Tom Butler '73 just celebrated 35 years with United Airlines. He's been an Operations Supervisor at O'Hare Airport in Chicago for the last 22 years and he loves his job. His two children are now tremendous adults and he has welcomed two grandchildren so far.
Timothy Garvey '73 became a grandfather for the second time when his granddaughter, Chloe, was born in January 2009. She joined big brother, James, age two. Timothy is host to two international exchange students who are attending Arlington High School this year. Junwei, from China, is a senior and Julien, from Germany, is a junior.
Ron Lichtenstein '73 was recently elevated to a three year term on the Board of Directors of the North American Power Sweeping Associated (NAPSA). The organization represents 300 sweeping contractors in North America and serves as their legislative, environmental and lobbying voice within the Americas. Ron and his wife, Karen, have operated a pavement maintenance business in Walpole, MA since 1985. Ron has also been employed in the consumer electronics and economic development business since graduating from Curry in 1973. He has been an Area Manager for Consolidated Rail Corp., handling government affairs and economic development issues in New England.
Marty Rosenkrantz '76 spent 30 years in the recycling business and is semi-retired after selling his company two years ago. He has two daughters, ages 10 and 14, both born in China. His wife assists couples with international adoption.
Michael Cohen '77 has been a special education teacher for the past three years. He lives in Woodsville, NH with his family, including his wife of 13 years. He has three stepchildren and grandchildren. He has spent time travelling and directing some local theatre productions.
Ruth-Ellen (Burack) Flanagan '77 and her husband, Kevin, continue to enjoy living in Raleigh, NC. Ruth-Ellen, Christine (Andrade) Cotter '77 and Susan Meagher '79 met for lunch in Curry's new Student Center this summer and took a tour of the campus to see the many exciting changes. She credits Facebook with helping her reconnect with many Curry alumni.
Diane Ray '79 works for the East Bridgewater school system in their before and after school care program. She is in charge of the K-3 age group in the after school portion of the program. The program is so successful there is a waiting list to join. Diane loves working with the children and her fellow teachers.
1980-1989
Richard "Dick" Lancaster '80 has worked as sales manager of the local daily paper in Brunswick, ME for 23 years and his wife, Mary, teaches second grade. His daughter, Jordan, is a member of the Class of 2013 at Curry. She is majoring in Elementary Education and living in Mayflower. His son, Brett, is a freshman in high school and plays football, basketball and baseball.
Paul Turner '81 has been living in Acton since 1995. He volunteers doing office assistant work and being a "friendly visitor" for Minuteman Senior Services, which is the local Aging Service Access Point. He has received two President's Volunteer awards from Minuteman. The group became part of Commonwealth Corps. last summer and Paul is proud to volunteer with them.
Cathi (McKeever) Petrick '86 lives in Connecticut with her husband, Tom, and their four children, Kate, 18 and a freshman at the University of Delaware; Stephen, 16; Jack, 12; and five-year-old Will.
Catherine (Lane) Lawson '87 and her husband, Richard, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in May 2009. They have two daughters, Robin, 16, and Megan, 11. Catherine has been a Montessori teacher in Maryland for 20 years and Richard has been a network administrator at a market company for 21 years.
George Williams '88 has been married for 13 years and currently works as Hospitality and Security Analyst for Accenture, a global consulting company.
Walter Katz '89 has been living in Florida for 15 years and has been married to his wife, Cheryl, for almost four years. They welcomed their daughter, Hannah Rose Katz, in April 2009.
1990-1999
Tracy (Henaghan) Regan '91 is living in Norfolk, MA with her husband, Paul, and two children, Taylor, age three and Evan, 15 months.
Daniel Theobald '92/'01 and Merrill Theobald '94/'08 moved to Sharon from Canton, MA. Merrill works as a special education teacher at Dedham High School and Daniel has been an associate lecturer in Curry's Math and Natural Sciences Department for the last two years.
Lisa (Boonstra) Swedock '95 was recently hired as the After School team leader at north Central Charter Essential School in Fitchburg, MA. She lives in Leominster with her husband, Peter, and two sons, 13-year-old Nick and 11-year-old Alex.
Ray LaPlaca '96 moved to South Korea three years ago and married his wife, Jung Eun, in May 2008. Their daughter, Anela, was born in August 2009. Ray is loving the culture and people of South Korea.
Christine (Weldon) Ahola '97 and Ted Ahola (attended Curry from 1995-97) were married in May 2008 and welcomed their son, Little Teddy, in April 2009.
Chevalier Daniel C. Boyer '97 will have a pen-and-ink drawing, "The Guitar Hero," in the group exhibition "What I Don't Like" at the Florean Museum in Baia Mare, Maramures, Romania March 4 and a drawing in the group exhibition, "A View From the Window", at the Stadtmusen Weilheim in Weilheim, Germany from May 8 - 30, 2010. His piece, "The Diabetic Porcupine", was done with a bingo dauber and will be part of a group exhibition at the Bantul National Museum in Yogykarta, Indonesia in October 2010.
Beverly (George) Grant '98 is a correctional nurse and is pursuing her education and a career in the military.
John Shea '98 served over 30 years as a police officer, then as Assistant District Attorney. He is now a Democratic candidate for Plymouth County District Attorney.
2000-2009
Melissa Stokes '00 was married on September 20, 2009 to Michael McComas. The wedding was at the Tirrell Room in Quincy, MA and their honeymoon included a stop in Paris before embarking from Barcelona on a Mediterranean cruise. The couple currently lives in Orlando, FL.
Laura (Clement) Brindle '01 has been married to her husband, Brian, for seven years. They have two beautiful children: Jakob, 7, and Olivia, 5. Three years ago they built a house in Haverhill, where they live happily. Brian is a pipefitter and Laura works as community support staff.
Lynn (Eramo) Gondelman '02 and her husband, AJ, welcomed a daughter, Lena Hope, in April 2009.
Daria Koudriacheva '02 became engaged to Stuart Liljegren III on December 7, 2009. They have a two-year-old son, Savva Russell, and are working to achieve a full, happy family life.
Ryan Elizabeth Searle '02 graduated magna cum laude from Vermont Law School in May 2009 with her J.D. and passed the July 2009 Massachusetts Bar Exam. She returned home to the Vineyard in August to work in a small firm where she mainly does criminal defense work.
Alison (Myers) Baker '03 and her husband, Paul, welcomed their son, Travis Carter Baker, on September 18, 2009.
Kristen Daher-Ewing '03 and Laurence Ewing '05 were married on October 24, 2009 after being together for eight years.
Lisa Bello '04 released her first album, Double Life, on iTunes in September 2009. She received a Boston Music Award for R&B Act of the Year 2009. She is working on a second album due out in February 2010.
Rebecca Gardner '04 and Alex Johnson '03 are engaged and planning a July 2010 wedding.
Jennifer Ward '04 recently relocated to Newark, DE and works as the Assistant Director of Counseling Services and The Women's Center at a historically black university.
Matthew Bailey '05 and Brittany (Collins) Bailey '05 were married on October 3, 2009. The wedding was attended by fellow Curry alums: Matt Williams '05, Andrew Pagnotta '06, Katie Piskor '06, Chris Hartnett '06, Matt Cormier '06, Molly Bergeron '05, Angela Thibert '05, Eileen Stanley '05, Anthony Castagnozzi '05, Sarah Kurs '06, Jillian Murray '05, Katie Sweeney '05 and Isaac Palmer '06.
Lindsey Crowell '05 is working in Princeton, NJ as a nanny and loves her job. She and her boyfriend live in Lawrenceville, NJ.
Taylor Sugden '05 and Bret Adams '06 are engaged and planning to have a spring wedding in Puerto Rico.
Nick Wilson '05 founded and operates his own restaurant in Corona, CA. Twisted Gourmet served 35,000 in its first year. Nick is currently working on his Master's in Organizational Leadership.
Mariela Nosal '05/'09 received her master's degree in Educational Foundations in August 2009 from Curry. Her thesis entitled, "The Effect of Education Reform Legislation on After School Programs: A Historical Analysis 1983-2008" has been adapted to book form.
Kerry McRae '06 graduated in May 2009 from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work specializing in clinical practice with older adults and families. She became a certified SHINE counselor in October 2009. She is now preparing for the MA LCSW exam while working at Somerville-Cambridge Edler Services as an Elder Care Advisor.
Kate Stockwell '06 is teaching Special Education at Travis Elementary in Houston, TX.
Amanda Gutterman '07 is working toward her master's degree in Criminal Justice at Curry and hopes to graduate this spring.
Yaniv Havusha '08 is working as a Resident Director of a first year residence hall at Western Connecticut State University.
Samantha Crescitelli '09 is in her second semester of graduate school at Simmons College in Boston. She will graduate in December 2010 with a master's degree in English. On Christmas Eve 2009, Samantha and her boyfriend of two years, Brian, became engaged.
Patricia O'Connell '09 recently passed the national exam to become a Certified Pediatric Nurse. She is currently a student at Loyola University School of Law pursuing a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law.
