The Colonels face intense competition in the 16-team New England Football Conference, the largest Division III football conference in the nation.

In 2008, Curry finished the regular season at 9-1 and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. It marked the first time in history that an NEFC school received an at-large bid, and the sixth year in a row that the Colonels participated in the NCAA Tourney. Curry advanced to the Round of 16 for the second-consecutive season, this time by virtue of a stunning 26-21 regional quarterfinal road win at Ithaca College. The Colonels became the first NEFC team to win a road playoff game in the NCAAs.

Curry has a 60-4 regular-season record over the past six seasons, and recorded a school record of 12 wins in 2007. The Colonels have qualified for the post-season for eight consecutive years (2001-2008).
