The 2008-2009 season will be Davies ninth full season at the helm of the Colonels' ice hockey program.

Last season Curry finished with a 16-9-1 overall record and a 14-1-1 in the ECAC Northeast.  The Colonels captured the regular-season championship and claimed the #1 seed in the ECAC Northeast Playoffs.  Curry lost in the quarterfinals to the #8 seed Fitchburg State.

In 2006-2007 the Colonels finished the season with a 16-9-2 overall record and 13-1-1 in the ECAC Northeast.  The Colonels were once again the #2 seed heading into the ECAC Northeast Tournament but fell to the #4 seed Wentworth in the semi-final game.  Davies surpassed Bill Stewart as Curry career wins leader with 117.

In 2005-2006 the team closed out its campaign with a 16-11-1 overall record and a 13-1-1 record in ECAC Northeast play.  Curry was seeded #2 in the ECAC Northeast Tournament and advanced to the conference championship game for the third year in a row. The Colonels traveled to UMass Dartmouth to take on the Corsairs for the second year in a row and, the Colonels lost to UMass Dartmouth 3-1.

During the 2004-2005 season the Colonels once again were regular-season champs with another undefeated conference record of 14-0-1.  The Colonels had not lost a regular season conference game that season since the 2003 campaign, a span of 43 games.  And for the first time since 1986 Davies’ squad captured the ECAC Northeast Playoff Championship.  They defeated UMass Dartmouth 6-1.  The win gave the team an automatic bid to the NCAA for the second consecutive year.  They lost in the first-round to defending champions Middlebury College.

In 2003-2004, Davies led Curry to a 24-4-1 record overall and a perfect 16-0 mark in ECAC Northeast play. Davies' squad won the ECAC Northeast regular-season title and advanced to the conference tournament finals. Edged by Wentworth for an automatic bid, the Colonels received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament field of eight. Curry nearly pulled off a first-round upset at Plattsburgh State, falling 5-4 in overtime. Still, the Colonels finished the year as the seventh-ranked team nationally in Division III men's hockey.

Davies was selected by the New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA) as Division III New England "Coach of the Year" in 2002 and 2004.

The Pte. Claire, Montreal native has spent most of the last 30 years in hockey as either a player or coach. He played his collegiate hockey at Boston University, where he helped guide the Terriers to a pair of Beanpot wins. Over four years at B.U., Davies averaged better than a point a game.

After leaving B.U., Davies played professionally from 1982-1986 with the International Hockey League's Kalamazoo Wings – an affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings. Over the course of an outstanding four-year career, he was named as the team's Rookie of the Year, and was two-time team MVP and scoring leader. Davies was also named to the IHL All-Star team in two of his four seasons.

After an eye injury cut short his playing career, Davies remained in Michigan and began a high school and Midget AAA coaching career that spanned more than a decade. He has also run hockey camps in Michigan in each of the past 14 summers.

During the 1998-99 season, Davies returned to B.U. as volunteer assistant coach and video coordinator.

In memory of son Devin, Davies remains active in both the American Cancer Society and the Crippled Children Society.
