2008 CURRY COLLEGE COLONELS

The men’s soccer team plays a 20-game schedule against Commonwealth Coast Conference and non-conference opponents from the New England area. Pre-season camp in August helps prepare the squads for the fall season, and the indoor program keeps their skills sharp during the winter months.

  • In 2008, Head Coach Peter Mendel led his team to an overall record of 16-5-3 and 9-2-2 record in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.  The 16 wins was the most in school history.
  • Curry advanced to the conference tournament semi-final game, the first time since the 1995 season.  The Colonels were also selected to play in the ECAC Division III Men's Championship for the first time in school history.  The team won its quarterfinal game and advanced to the semi-final game before losing to Coast Guard Academy.
  • Head Coach Peter Mendel was named as The Commonwealth Coast Conference "Coach of the Year".
  • In 2007, Head Coach Peter Mendel led the Curry Men's Soccer team for his first season.
  • In 2007, the men's soccer team finished 7-10-3 overall, and notched a 5-4-3 record in TCCC games.
  • Curry qualified for the 2007 TCCC Tournament for the second year in a row and was the #7 seed.  In the quarterfinals, the squad lost to second-seeded Roger Williams University, 0-2.
