In 2008, Mendel will lead the Curry Men's Soccer team for a second season.  In 2007, his team finished with an overall record of 7-10-3 and notched a 5-3-3 record in TCCC games. His sqaud qualified for the conference tournament as the #7 seed but lost to the #2 seed Roger Williams in the quarterfinal game.

A native of Adams, Massachusetts, Mendel is a graduate of Endicott College where he earned his degree in sport management. He was a four-year letterman with the soccer program. He was an All-State player in High School and was inducted into the Berkshire County Soccer Hall of Fame for his stellar career at Hoosac Valley High School.

Coach Mendel started his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at Salem State College for the past two seasons. Mendel helped turn around a program that had four wins in 2004 to a 14-win season in 2006. While at Salem Coach Mendel was in charge of recruitment and retention for the men’s soccer program.

Mendel now holds his NSCAA National and Advanced National Diplomas as well as his State Goalkeeping Diploma. Coach Mendel is a staff coach for the Eastern Mass FC where he currently coaches the U-17 boy’s team. He also just completed his Masters Degree in Higher Education in Student Affairs from Salem State College.

During the Summers Coach Mendel works numerous camps and clinics across New England two of the notable being  the Soccer Academy at Williams College, and the Brown University Soccer Camps.
