DRISCOLL NAMED AS NEFC & ECAC DIVISION III NORTHEAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MILTON, Mass. - Curry College junior linebacker Scott Driscoll (North Andover, MA) has been named as the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Defensive Player of the Week and as the ECAC Division III Northeast Defensive Player of the Week for his performance during a 21-7 Colonels' win at Salve Regina on October 4. This is the second time this season that Driscoll has earned both league honors as the week's top defensive player.
Against the Seahawks, Driscoll won the game for the Colonels with his fourth-quarter, 25-yard interception return for a touchdown that snapped a 7-7 tie. He also contributed seven tackles (all solo), including a sack for -8 yards.
On the season, Driscoll leads Curry in tackles with 33 (30 solo). He also paces the squad with four interceptions (41 return yards). The Colonels are 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the NEFC Boyd Division. They have won 35 games in a row against league opponents and 32 games in a row at home. Curry hosts M.I.T. on Saturday October 11 at 1:00 p.m.
