Curry College offers six varsity sports for female student-athletes – basketball, cross-country, lacrosse, soccer, softball and tennis.
Fall
During the fall, the Colonels compete in cross country, soccer and tennis.
Curry’s distance runners take part in at least six meets throughout September and October.
Two-time conference “Coach of the Year” Danielle Ferrara Toomey guides the Colonels’ women’s soccer team for a ninth season in 2007.
Curry’s women’s tennis squad is an annual participant in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) post-season play.
Winter
The Miller Gymnasium hardwood is electric during the winter months.
The Colonels’ women's basketball team has emerged as a powerhouse in the CCC South Division under Head Coach Francis Elms.
Spring
Each spring , the Colonels also field championship-caliber teams in two additional sports – lacrosse and softball. Both are ranked among the top programs in Division III in New England.
In just seven seasons as a varsity sport, Head Coach Caitlin Roberts has led her lacrosse team to unprecedented success. In 2004, her Colonels won a school-record 14 games and notched the school’s first-ever CCC Tournament and ECAC Tournament victories in women’s lacrosse.
In his 12 seasons at the helm, Bruce Weckworth’s softball squads have averaged 23 wins, appeared in the conference finals six times (most recently in 2006) and captured a pair of CCC Tournament Championships. Curry has posted 30-win campaigns in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
