2008 CURRY COLLEGE COLONELS

The Women’s Soccer team plays a 20-game schedule against TCCC and non-conference opponents from the New England area.  Pre-season camp in August helps prepare the squads for the fall season, and the indoor program keeps their skills sharp during the winter months.

  • In 2008, posted an 11-7-1 overall record and 8-4-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). 

  • The Colonels played in the conference tournament as the #5 seed against the #4 seed Gordon College.  The team also was selected for the second-year in a row to play in the ECAC Division III Women's Soccer Championship.   Curry was ranked #5 and hosted the #4 seed University of New England. 

  • Curry has gone six straight seasons with 10 or more wins.

  • In 2007, Curry had its third 13-win season (13-6-1) in four years.  The Colonels went 9-3-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) play and secured the #4 seed in the TCCC Tournament.

  • In 2007, the Colonels outscored their conference opponents 36-11 and posted 8 shutouts.

  • At the conclusion of the 2007 season, sophomore Ashley Hansbury was named as The Commonwealth Coast Conference "Player of the Year." 
  • For the first time in school history, the 2007 team was selected to play in the ECAC Division III Women's Soccer Championship.  Curry was the #7 seed and traveled to the #2 seed Roger Williams for the quarterfinal game.  The Colonels lost to the Hawks 2-1 with the game winning goal scored with just 10 seconds left in regulation.
