2009 COLONELS

A perennial contender in the highly-competitive The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC), Curry opens its spring schedule every March by playing eight games in Ft. Myers, Florida.

 In 2009, Curry’s softball squad was led by 14th-year Head Coach Bruce Weckworth, who ranks  among the national leaders in Division III for career wins with more than 300.

 In 2009, the Colonels posted a 27-17 record overall and a 17-7 mark in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play. Curry advanced to the CCC semi-finals, but fell just shy of a conference title.

 The softball diamond was recently upgraded with new permanent outfield fencing and a warning track.

“We’re very fortunate to have one of the best softball facilities in the New England area.  It has helped us attract some outstanding talent to our team and it has allowed us to host high school tournament games and the practices of the Bay State Games Southeast Team as well.”
