Maureen O'Shea has served in the Division of Nursing since 2003. She has extensive nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings including Medical-Surgical, Intensive Care, and Emergency Department care. She has been a Nurse Practitioner in long-term and sub-acute facilities in the Boston area. She is currently a Nurse Practitioner in the Geriatric Program at Milton Hospital in affiliation with the Geriatric Division of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Particular areas of interest include holistic health concepts and practice, Comfort Theory, elder health issues, effective communication practices, ethical considerations, and advance care directive issues.
She is a charter member of the Epsilon Beta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing.She is a member of the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Maureen is currently a doctoral degree candidate at Regis College.
Maureen is a Clinical Instructor with sophomore nursing students during their initial clinical experience. She also supervises senior nursing students during their final clinical placements. She values the opportunity to share in the development and education of future nurses.
