Susan James holds a bachelor of science degree from Boston College School of Nursing, a masters’ degree in maternal child nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctoral degree in nursing and health promotion from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.  Her dissertation is titled: I Think I Can: Parenting Self-Efficacy in Parents of Young Adolescents.

Dr. James has had extensive teaching and clinical supervision experience in both nursing of children and community health nursing. She has authored and contributed to several nursing text books, most recently James/Ashwill Nursing Care of Children (3rd Edition) (Elsevier, 2007).
