Dr. Jack S. Kahn received a B.S. from Arizona State University in psychology in 1990 with a minor in sociology and philosophy. He received a master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from San Jose State University in 1992. In 1997, he completed a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York.
Jack's research interests include social constructivism, social justice, and feminist psychology. He recently published a textbook called An Introduction to Masculinities with Blackwell/Wiley. His current research project includes investigating diverse ways that male-identified people challenging dominance and how that leads to healthier ways of living and connecting with others.
Jack is currently a member of the Women and Gender Studies and Excellence in Teaching Committee at Curry College. He is an editorial board member of the journal 'Women & Therapy'. He is also active in the National organization for Men Against Sexism (Boston chapter).
In his spare time, he enjoys independent film, old/bad horror movies (particularly those starring Vincent Price), music, reading, and cooking. He and his partner Jackie live with their dog Molly and cats Kip & Keiko.
