Dr. Linda M. Caldwell has been a member of the Nursing faculty at Curry College since 1983; she has been Chairperson of the Division of Nursing since 1999.  She is Board Certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and has expertise in urgent care, primary care, and occupational medicine. Nominated by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Dr. Caldwell was selected as a Public Health Service Primary Care Policy Fellow in 2003.  The Fellowship brought together a multidisciplinary group of primary care leaders from across the nation to recommend health care policies to top government, congressional and private sector health care officials in our Nation’s capital. The policy recommendation was a call for a mandate for all prescribers to use for electronic prescribing.

Dr. Caldwell serves on the AACN National Baccalaureate Conference Planning committee 2007-09. She served as Parliamentarian for AACN 2004-06 and was appointed to AACN’s National Nursing Educational Benchmarking Advisory Committee in 2004. In May 2004, she was the recipient of the MaryAnn Garrigan Award from Sigma Theta Tau’s Theta Chapter-at-Large for Excellence in Nursing Administration. In May 2008, Dr. Caldwell received the Curry College Faculty Achievement award. She is a site evaluator and team leader for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) the accrediting arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

“The Division of Nursing at Curry is very well respected in the state of Massachusetts and we are establishing a presence at the national level as well," reports Dr. Caldwell. "We have recently been selected as one of fifteen schools across the nation to be a pilot for Quality and Safety in Nursing Education (QSEN). This is quite an accomplishment for us!  The QSEN mandate fits well with our new MSN program – Clinical Nurse Leader. The education provided by the nursing faculty is second to none and the clinical facilities that we use are top-rate. I am very proud of the accomplishments of the nursing faculty and of the nursing alumnae. The Nursing Division at Curry is a growing and vibrant place to work and, more importantly, to learn.”

Dr. Caldwell holds a BS from Northeastern University, an MS from Boston College, a Doctorate in Nursing from Boston University, and a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Study in Primary Care from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.
