Curry College has begun construction on new Student Center!

Ceremonial Groundbreaking Will Be Held on May 15 at 1:00 p.m.

The 84,000 square foot facility is being built directly behind the existing Student Center. Construction began in March 2008 and the project is estimated to be completed in 14-18 months.

"It is our goal, which I am confident we will achieve, to establish a first-class Student Center which will provide students the extracurricular and co-curricular experiences they deserve," said President Quigley. "The new Student Center will connect the academic and residential life of the College and serve as a hub of activity for all community members."

Features of the new Student Center will include:

• Recreational athletic facilities including a Gymnasium and Fitness Center
• General use and athletic locker rooms, athletic offices
• Gym Lobby - Hallway of Champions - with Colonels trophies and memorabilia
• Expanded Dining Hall with a food court style servery
• Informal and late night food service
• Student Lounge with fireplace and living room atmosphere
• Café with coffee house atmosphere
• Sports café with pub style seating and flat screen TVs
• Game Room with billiards and other amusements
• Quiet Lounge for relaxed study
• Student services, SGA and student club offices and meeting areas
• A Chapel for Spiritual Life programming and quiet prayer or reflection
• Campus Post Office and Copy and Supply Center with a full range of services
• An amphitheatre style, multipurpose outdoor gathering space on Westhaver Park
• Bookstore with expanded space for texts and general merchandise
• A tribute to the legacy of Joseph and Frieda Drapkin
• More space to simply gather and just hang out!
