Boston is definitely a great place to be if you're a college student because there's just so much to do. You never really run out of activities or sporting events to attend.

Melissa Shaw - Management

The opportunity for career advancement motivated Melissa Shaw '05, a customer service manager at Boston Financial Data Services in Quincy, to pursue a degree in Business Management.

Melissa wanted a flexible schedule and found it at Curry College.

"The atmosphere is phenomenal and the schedule fits into my life," says Melissa. "The course selection in Milton is great and the location is convenient. And if I ever need to take a class on a Saturday, I can do it at Curry's Plymouth campus near my home."

Convenience of location and scheduling wasn't the only thing Melissa was looking for in a college. She wanted a quality education that would equip her to achieve a new level of excellence in her career.

"The best part about Curry is the faculty, who are teaching courses in fields in which they are currently working or have had significant experience. The professors at Curry College bring real life experience and examples into the classroom, which has an immediate impact on my career."

"The small class size and personal attention is another big benefit. Sometimes it's overwhelming trying to juggle work and school. There are clear and challenging expectations from day one, but there's also support by the faculty. Many of my professors worked in their field full-time while going to school part-time to earn their master's degree. They know what it's like and can offer relevant personal support to help along the way.

"I think I'm getting more out of my education as a CE student because I'm working in a business setting and taking business classes simultaneously. I can utilize what I learn in class right back into my work flow."
