Michelle Pritchard '12 - Special Education
After working with an aunt with a mental disability when she was in high school, Michelle Pritchard '12 knew teaching people with special needs was her calling.
"I chose Curry because of its amazing Special Education major, and because it was so close to Boston...It's was so easy to get involved here. I was a student teacher. I worked in the Admission Office. I minored in Dance and I even founded an a cappella group called Pure Vocals."
Pritchard also worked at the Admission Office on campus.
"Lots of students ask me about financial options in my job at the Admission office. I was thrilled to be awarded work study, and getting a job right when I got to campus was key for me. Also helping me financially were my merit scholarships."
After Curry, Pritchard plans on attending graduate school and ultimately wants to make a difference in the learning and the lives of students with autism and other disabilities.
