Catching up with Moussa Seck '10, MBA '12
Though Moussa Seck has physically moved on from Curry College, he will always have a special place in his life for his alma mater.
After completing his undergraduate degree in 2010, Moussa immediately went on to earn his MBA at Curry in 2012. Since then, he has spent almost two years doing auditing work for CBIZ Tofias, one of the top accounting, tax, and consulting providers in the United States.
The learning never stops for Moussa, though. Currently, he is halfway through the Certified Public Accountant exams and hopes to complete the final two CPA tests within the year.
While work in the financial and accounting fields may seem daunting to some, the passion that Moussa has for his chosen industry is evident by the way he discusses his work. "One of the things I enjoy most about the profession is its communicative aspect. Unlike what most people think, as an auditor I'm not just crunching numbers eight hours a day. I get to travel and move around, converse with upper management about their businesses to gain an understanding of their processes, controls, and policies, and I more often than not make important lasting relationships with these people."
Despite his demanding schedule, Moussa always makes time for Curry. Whether it's coming back to campus for advisory board meetings or giving back through a donation to the Annual Fund, his involvement never falters. "Curry provided me with the foundation which makes my career and lifestyle possible. I've made lasting relationships-both business and personal-and most of all it has taught me to be an effective learner. I didn't leave Curry with just a certificate; Curry enabled me to develop a mental framework to be successful, which is the true value of my education. It is something that will continue to pay dividends for the rest of my life. Thus, I only feel it to be necessary to give back."
The Annual Fund supports all areas of the institution and allows the college to use the funds in areas where they are most needed. The college has designated this fund as the top priority for annual gifts, supporting infrastructure and core programs such scholarships and financial aid, faculty, student life, technology and more.
Charitable contributions from alumni, parents, friends, corporations and charitable foundations help fuel our growth and improve the educational experience for our students. Ways to give include unrestricted and restricted gifts, bequests, stocks and securities, matching gifts and more.
