Joseph Cullen
Dr. Joseph P. Cullen, Director of the Program for the Advancement of Learning, received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology/Special Education from the University of Connecticut in 1995. In his 30 year career as an educator, Dr. Cullen has worked in K-12 schools, private practice, and postsecondary institutions. As a K-12 educator, Dr. Cullen has been licensed in School Psychology, Guidance Counseling, Special Education, and School Administration. In addition, he has held positions as a School Psychologist, Program Coordinator, and Department Head. In private practice, Dr. Cullen has worked as an Independent Consultant, Grant Writer, Grant Administrator, Curriculum Developer, and Program Evaluator. At the college level, Dr. Cullen has held posts as a faculty member, Department Chair, Director of Research and Evaluation, and Program Director. His research interests include Methods and Materials of Inclusive Teaching, Diagnostic and Prescriptive Assessment of Specific Learning Disabilities, Effective Early Intervention with At-Risk Children, and Crisis Intervention Skills for Human Service Professionals.
