Michelle Gabow
Michelle A. Gabow has been a Learning Ability Specialist in the PAL Program for over twenty years. She has written two chapters about learning differently which were published in A Closer Look: Perspectives and Reflections on College Student with Learning Disabilities and Changing Lives Through Metacognition.
She has also taught Script Writing, Performance Poetry and Physical Acting at Curry. Michelle has been an active playwright for over thirty years. Ten of her full-length scripts have been produced in Boston and throughout the country. Her work is an off balanced approach to storytelling using a heightened, non-linear form. Heinemann Press has published her work in Dialogues for Women by Women. In January 2011, she was chosen as Roxbury Repertory Theatre's Playwright Laureate 2011 and was a finalist for the Mclaren Comedy Competition. Roxbury Repertory Theatre selected The End of Theatre to be featured for their short plays festival, 6 Playwrights In Search of a Stage in April 2011.
In 2012, Michelle completed a manuscript of short stories (both fiction and creative non-fiction), God Is A Dog (lost & found in Paris), which explores the fairytale in the ordinary, the re-membering of passion in grief and the hidden found while lost in the streets of Paris. She has read many of these stories at several different venues throughout Massachusetts, including Wellfleet Preservation Hall.
