Patty has been teaching at Curry College in the Program for Advancement of Learning since Fall 1995. Her background in language arts, diagnostic assessment, transformational learning, behavioral neuroscience, metacognition and cognitive psychology informs her learning relationships with students. Patty's Masters' research focused on the use of narrative composition to inform decision making for adolescents and emerging adults. Her doctoral research looked at the learning self and transformational learning for undergraduate students who were engaged in social justice work. Patty developed and coordinated the First Year Honors Program until 2008 around interdisciplinary themes of identity of the self in multicultural contexts. Her current research focuses on the integration of the cognitive and social aspects of the learning self in specific undergraduate courses.
