Ann Levin received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from Harvard University. Her areas of academic interest include studies of inequality, particularly, class, race, and gender; education as a social institution; family; and deviance. She was one of several faculty members to teach college courses in the Massachusetts state prison system when such programs were offered by Curry and other institutions of higher education.
Professor Levin designed and taught Sociology of Women, the first course at Curry to explore women's issues. She was a founder and is an active member of the Women's Studies program at Curry. She recently completed a research project entitled "Women's Studies and Gender Studies: An Analysis." Professor Levin is a member of the All-Faculty Evaluation Committee and the Women's Studies Committee. She was a founder and is a former vice-president for collective bargaining of the Curry AAUP.
