Besides teaching at Curry College, James Meehan has taught at Boston College, Suffolk University, and Rivier College in New Hampshire.  Professor Meehan’s scholarly areas of interest include criminology, urban life and culture, and local community development.  His non-academic work experience includes four years as a pre-release counselor and co-director of the jail industry project at the Strafford County Correctional Facility in Dover, NH.  He presently resides in Boston and serves as a member of both the Board of Directors and the Economic Restructuring Committee of Mission Hill Main Streets, a community revitalization organization.
